Clermont, FL Sheryl Ann (Krosnick) Gilbert, beloved Daughter, Wife of 37 years, Mother, Grand Mother [Neenah], Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and Dear Christian Friend passed to Eternal Glory to be with Her Heavenly Father, Her Savior Jesus and into the further comfort of The Holy Spirit at 11:55 A.M. on 6 July 2006. She struggled courageously against Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) for over two years and was just recently overcome by the additional stress of other medical complications during Hospitalization. Sheri was born in Washington, D.C. on 20 August 1948 to John and Laura Krosnick, who preceded her.
Sheri was always a great student, a reader of books-especially the Bible, and an accomplished artist. Her legacy is well documented through her paintings and mostly by her Loving, Caring, and Serving Christian witness even while she taught school for 20+ years.
Sheri was an excellent Wife and Mother, always supporting and way to often giving selflessly more than was required. She reveled in teaching [art and life lessons], photography and painting. Her Love language was GIVING!
Sheri married Gauvain Gilbert on 18 October 1968 becoming a Navy wife. Neither liked sea duty so he finished that commitment and they finished college together in Oklahoma, graduating with honors. She then became an Army wife and was honored for her duty and commitment to the country when Gauvain retired in 1991. She retired from teaching in 1995. Christopher was born in 1969-in the Navy. Geoffrey was born in 1973-in College. Chris married Angela and blessed us with Joshua, Caleb, Noah, Sarah and Esther. Geoffrey married Lisa and blessed us with Ryan, Anna, and Evan-to date. Sheri expected another Grand Daughter.
Sheri is survived by her sister Karen Padgett [Elmer] and Brother John Carl Krosnick II and wife Theresa. She precedes Nephews Bryan Padgett and John Carl Krosnick III as well as nieces Sandra Padgett Kamholz and Laura Krosnick. Added to these are special cousins Chauncey and Shirley Grimes and Sue Grimes Munsell along with Jeane Seiberling and Jan Ross and their extended families. Many of her other Family members supported her in thought and prayer along this difficult journey. There are many many she survives on Gauvains side of the Family too and she loved them very very much as they did her. Her life long friends and new Mosaic Church friends were also loved in Sheris very special way. Sheri Gilbert-a courageous Christian example for all to follow.
A Life Celebration Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, 9 July 2006 in the new MOSAIC Church-608 W. Oakland Avenue, P.O. Box 10989 Oakland, FL 34760, with a reception to follow in the foyer. The service will be directed by Pastor Renaut van der Riet.
Sheris expressed wish was for donations to MOSAIC Church in lieu of Flowers, in order to continue Gods work being done there by a Church after his own heart. She will be missed! Praise God!
